After having a basic understanding of what Cloud Storage is, let’s get into the different types of cloud storage and how it can benefit YOU, by choosing the right one for your business. As technology advances, more businesses are investing in the Cloud whether it be small, medium or large and based on the unique needs and wants that your business requires, they can offer similar solutions.
Types of Cloud Storage:
Public Storage
This storage is known as an open type storage. The service provider is usually not affiliated with the business. As a result, small businesses tend to use this type of storage as a means of helping with their expenses, as oppose, to building an on-site data center to then recruit staff to manage such information.
The service provider would generally provide basic resources such as applications to the user/business for free, if they wish to access more features / resources, a fee would then be applied. With this service little to no maintenance is required as the cloud provider is responsible for managing the service.
Private Storage
As the name suggest this type of storage is private to one business only as oppose to the public cloud that is available to anyone. This cloud storage usually appeals to medium and large businesses as they would have, if not build an on-site data center. Private storage allows businesses to personalize the services needed, based on uniqueness. There’s a greater level of security than with public cloud, but more effort would be needed to ensure that the service is being maintained.
Hybrid Storage
This storage comprises of both public and private services. This allows businesses to secure confidential data using private cloud by having their own data center and allow access to data that’s not confidential with the public cloud which would be maintained by a third- party. The Hybrid storage is cost efficient, it’s flexible and allows a level of scalability.
